How the quote works

When the state of a draft makes the time hard to predict, we quote a range. We bill for the hours we actually work, with a minimum of one hour, so if a job comes in under the range, you pay less.

Turnaround

Turnaround runs from payment, and we hold your place in the schedule once it clears. If you mention your deadline in your first message, we’ll confirm what’s possible before you commit to anything.

We usually reply to inquiries within a few hours during our support hours.

Proofreading

Proofreading is billed at the line editing rate. It costs less because it takes fewer hours: we’re checking the text rather than reworking it.

Specialist rates

For services that show a specialist rate, medical, legal, and technical content is billed at $10 an hour above the standard rate to cover the extra care this material needs and the subject knowledge it calls for.

Currency and billing

Our rates are in US dollars, and we can bill in other currencies by arrangement. You can pay by PayPal or by bank transfer through Wise, and if your university or employer is paying, send us their billing details and we’ll invoice them directly. Where they work with purchase orders, we start once the PO is issued.

Organizations that send us work regularly can open a group account, either a monthly retainer or a prepaid balance, at the same rates and with less admin for your team.

Discounts

We don’t discount our rates. If a quote doesn’t fit your budget, tell us: we can usually adjust the scope so the price lands where you need it.
