About us
Who we are and how we work. Expert human editing for writing that has a job to do.
We were founded in 2016 to do one kind of work well: making expert writing clear, precise, and unmistakably its author’s.
We edit documents that have a job to do: proposals that need to win, reports that will be acted on, manuscripts that must get past reviewers, and theses that have to satisfy an examiner.
Who you’ll work with

Nicole Schmidt, Founder and Lead Editor. Nicole has edited high-stakes writing for more than twenty years: policy reports, legal agreements, journal articles, theses, and book-length monographs across STEM, law, public policy, public health, AI, biosecurity, and the social sciences. She holds a master’s degree in editing and publishing, earned with distinction, and has edited for researchers, institutions, and advisory firms worldwide.
Behind every project is a team of qualified editors who combine academic and business expertise with real publishing experience: decades of hands-on work on manuscripts for universities, publishers, and businesses worldwide.
We keep your voice, and we bring accountability and expert human judgment to every detail.
How we work
In Word, with tracked changes. We work in Microsoft Word with tracked changes, so every change is visible and reversible. Where a decision is genuinely yours, it goes in a margin comment rather than into the text.
No clean copies. We don’t send a version with everything accepted, because reviewing the edits and answering the comments is part of the process, and many of those comments need a decision only you can make.
We’ll quote you before any work starts. You’ll be billed on acceptance of the quote, and we’ll hold space in our calendar as soon as that clears.
Hourly, at fixed rates. There are no packages or tiers, and you can see exactly what we charge before you contact us.
Hours
We work with clients worldwide and reply to inquiries within a few hours during support hours, 08:00 to 19:00 CET.
