Who we work with

Editing for businesses

Proposals, reports, white papers, and client-facing copy, edited by people who read them the way your evaluator, your board, or your client will.

Some documents have a job to do: win the contract, or persuade a board that has forty minutes and eleven items. We edit writing like that with the person who will read it in mind.

What we work on

  • Proposals and tender responses
  • Consultancy and research reports
  • White papers and thought leadership
  • Board and committee papers
  • Strategy documents and internal standards
  • Client-facing copy

What editing does to a business document

It puts the finding first. Most drafts bury the answer, but evaluators and executives read from the top and stop when they have what they need, so the order of the document matters more than any sentence in it.

It makes the recommendation actionable. A recommendation nobody can act on is just a paragraph, so we flag where an instruction is missing an owner, a timeline, a decision, or a next step.

It removes the hedging. Professional writing drifts toward caution, and caution reads as having nothing to say, so we mark where a claim has been softened past the point of usefulness and you decide how far to commit.

It makes many authors sound like one organization. Multi-author documents give themselves away in the small things: capitalization, terminology, how numbers are set, whether the organization is it or they. Consistency like this is invisible when it’s there and obvious when it isn’t.

It gets the mechanics right. Grammar, usage, punctuation, style-guide compliance, references and cross-references, and tables and figures all get checked.

How we work

Every project is handled by a qualified human editor who tailors the work to your audience and your goals. Your editor works in Microsoft Word with tracked changes, so every change is visible and reversible, with margin comments where there’s a decision only you can make.

We reply to inquiries within a few hours during support hours, 08:00 to 19:00 CET.

What we charge

Our rates are hourly, in US dollars. If you’d like an estimate of the time your document will take, get in touch and we’ll give you one.

Working with us regularly

Organizations that send us work throughout the year can run a group account: one agreement, one point of contact, the same small team, and a house style we hold and apply across everything you send. This approach suits communications teams, research institutes, and advisory firms with several authors and standards to maintain.

Confidentiality

Your document is shared only with the editor working on it. We’re happy to sign an NDA for sensitive material, and we don’t name clients or quote from their documents publicly.
