Rates
We charge for an expert’s time rather than per word, because a clean draft and a messy one of the same length take very different amounts of time.

How the quote works
Send us the document and your deadline, and we’ll agree the scope with you before quoting.
Quotes are ranges when the state of the draft makes them uncertain, and we bill the hours we work. If a job comes in under the range, you pay the lower figure.
Turnaround
Turnaround runs from payment, so your place in the schedule is held the moment it clears. Tell us your deadline in your first message and we’ll confirm what’s possible before you commit.
We reply to inquiries within a few hours during support hours, 08:00 to 19:00 CET.
Proofreading
Proofreading is billed at the line editing rate, and it costs less simply because it takes fewer hours, since the editor is checking rather than reworking.
Specialist rates
Where a specialist rate is shown, medical, legal, and technical content is billed $10 an hour above the standard rate. That covers the extra care the subject matter needs, and an editor who has the right background for the work.
Currency and billing
Rates are in US dollars, and we can bill in other currencies by arrangement.
Organizations that send work regularly can hold a group account: a monthly retainer or a prepaid balance, at the same rates, with less admin burden for your team.
Discounts
We don’t discount our rates. If a quote doesn’t fit your budget, tell us: we can usually adjust the scope so the price lands where you need it.
